Nube log

Brandy new blog, brandy new camera and tomorrow there will be a brandy new haircut. Huzzah! The summer months have finally arrived and already I can hear the whining about being hot and sweaty. Summer in the fair southwest section of Philadelphia you can wake up in your narrow row home bedroom to the sounds of chainsaws and construction workers shouting the same phrase at each other over and over again, you know, to reiterate, devil cat screetching at the window as though its stuck on the fence and can't get down. More on devil cat later. Anyway, I almost forgot where I was going with this, ahem, step outside and say good morning to everyone sitting on your stoop ready to jump right into the days tasks of smoking grape philly bluntz, leaving cans of soda and chicken bones all over the step and repeat ev-er-y day ahm Hussle-in hussle-in, as they do because they are the corner boys. The dirtbikes are coming out to play. They are loud. The ambulances and rattling chains that follow them seem like they're coming by less frequently but I may be imagining that. The neighbors peeing out their bathroom window in the morning/hot pee smell wafting into my room hasn't started yet thank god. Babies cryin' people screamin' sayin' good mornin' how you doin' good? ohhh kay.
Two days ago, we were informed of a rather large baby bird that had fallen or was placed on the top step of our stoop. First flight gone horribly wrong. Yuck. I got to school after not going to sleep the night before, and after having an early breakfast at Little Pete's with Hannah, and see a dead finch that might have flown into the plate glass window in the courtyard and smacked itself dead. AAAAND That afternoon as I went to unlock my bike outside I find this: The carcass of a little mouse stuck in between the brake pad and my front tire. I couldn't figure out if someone was playing with dead things and thought it would be funny? Jessica thought the dead animals was some kind of warning, or was I just in a sleepless stupor and sucked the poor little fucker up in my spokes. Either way. jinkies.
Today I had lunch with a professor at his house. more on that later.
Tonight went t0 see Japanther at the Circle of Hope down the street. I don't think I've ever seen a giant potted fern go crowd surfing but tonight one did manage to achieve the dream. However, I did once see kid in a wheelchair go crowdsurfing but that also is another story. Good show, Cheers.
My how fast four in the morning rolls around. I'm alone in the house, sleeping with my door open, the window's open and its pouring cool rain outside. g'nights y'alls!
